Alan Weiss is relied upon by State and Local Government bodies throughout Australia to provide customised jewellery services for traditional ceremonial regalia and chains of office used in official ceremonies, special events, functions and council meetings by Mayors and Lord Mayors.
Since many of the jewellery and chains used today date back to the 1900’s, Alan Weiss is trusted to restore, repair, re-engrave, re-enamel and reproduce the historical pieces as well as design and manufacture new ceremonial regalia.
Recent notable projects include:
The City of Ballarat Ceremonial Regalia which included the repair of the original regalia which was broken and completely worn out. Soon afterwards the City of Ballarat commissioned Alan to re-create the original chains, which included 58 engraved gold links and a drop pendant, an elaborate project that took nine months to complete.
Knox City Council commissioned Alan Weiss to add 27 engraved gold links to its Ceremonial Regalian chains of office, which took three months to complete.
